Meg Adams. Adapt a story to different audiences

Laura Lindsberg (M.Sc.Econ, B.Sc.Health) is a marketing and networking professional who has published the book Verkostoitumisen taito (The Art of Networking) in Spring 2024. Laura’s work focuses on the importance of collaboration and connections between people and their impact on career development and business success. In 2011, she founded the Finland Young Professionals (FYP) network to promote professional networking among young people within and between companies.

The art of networking

• Networking has become increasingly important in recent decades as the job market has become more competitive, with 70-80% of jobs now filled through networking.
• Laura advises that the first step in effective networking is to identify your specific goals and find a networking approach that feels natural and sustainable for you.

• Networking can provide significant benefits for organizations, including improved competitiveness, better employer branding, increased collaboration, and higher employee engagement.

Networking and public speaking

• There is a strong connection between communication skills, storytelling, and effective networking, as being able to authentically connect with others is key.
• Speaking at events can be a valuable way to expand one’s network, as it allows you to showcase your expertise and make new connections.
